Siobhan Maya Bremer is an actor who has been performing onstage since the age of four. She performed in the annual children’s show at a university from age 4-18 then went on to perform in high school, college, community theatre and now professional theatre.

She received her MFA in Acting from Minnesota State University, Mankato becoming a professional actor and University of Minnesota Morris professor.

She has performed roles at the Commonweal Theatre (MN), Theatre in the Round (MN), Guthrie Theater (MN), Old Log Theatre (MN), Festival Theatre (WI), the Steel Beam Theatre (IL) Paul Bunyan Playhouse (MN), Black Hills Playhouse (SD), and Northern Lights Playhouse (MN).


As an Associate Professor...
she teaches a wide range of performance classes including Acting, Directing and Movement. As a generalist she also teaches additional courses including Stage Make-Up, Oral Interpretation and Introduction to Theatre, to name a few. She was awarded the Association of Theatre in Higher Education and Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival Region #5 2014-2015 Innovative Teaching Award. (One awarded yearly in each region-eight nationally)
As part of her university duties...
she directs a yearly production ranging from Classical to Contemporary including children’s theatre and musicals. Some of her favorite University shows include Twelfth Night, Anything Goes, Of Mice and Men, Sylvia and The Hobbit. When time allows she directs off-campus as well. Her favorite off campus show was Rabbit Hole.
She regularly presents...
workshops and takes part in panel discussions at national and international conferences. She presented a paper, “Going Green Globally in Theatre” at the Athens Institute for Education and Research in Athens Greece which was then published as a book chapter in The Visual and Performing Arts: An International Anthology Vol. 1 (2012): 73-78. She is also very active with the Association of Theatre in Higher Education where she presents yearly. She has served on the ATHE Acting Program board including as Acting Program Representative.
